The 16-year-old city girl was on life support at a Trenton hospital, police said
TRENTON - The 16-year-old Trenton girl who was shot in the head Sunday has died of her injuries, the Mercer County Prosecutor's Office said.
The girl, Ciony Kirkman, on Tuesday night was put on life support at Capital Health Regional Medical Center in Trenton, Casey DeBlasio, spokeswoman for the Prosecutor's Office, said.
Ciony was shot in the head at the intersection of Jersey Street and Home Avenue around 6:25 p.m. Sunday while in a Ford Windstar minivan that had been reported stolen in Trenton several days earlier, DeBlasio said.

Six other juveniles were in the minivan at the time. No others were injured.
Detectives from the city police and the Mercer County Prosecutor's Office continue to investigate.
There have been no arrests and authorities have provided no motive in the shooting.
The Trenton Public Schools issued a short letter of condolence Wednesday.
"Our hearts are heavy as we absorb the news of the tragedy that occurred," the statement read. "The loss has affected the entire school community at Daylight Twilight H.S., Trenton Central High School - Chambers Campus and Dunn Middle School.
Grief counselors were made available to affected students, the statement said.
"At times like these, we are all family, and we all mourn together,'' it said.
