Wayne Watts is accused of touching a female client during a massage session last year

TRENTON - A Hamilton massage therapist accused of inappropriately touching a female client was denied pretrial intervention Monday.

Wayne Watts, 66, is accused of sexually touching a female client during her scheduled massage at Watts' Hamilton business last year.

He applied for pretrial intervention (PTI) - a program that gives accused offenders the chance to go through a supervision and rehabilitation period. If they complete the program, they will have their record expunged.

But Superior Court Judge Peter Warshaw denied Watts' application for the program Monday. The former masseuse will now face his next scheduled court date on August 4.

The decision is the latest in Watts' case, which started in the spring of 2015, after a female client of his said she went to his massage parlor, Gentle Strength on Quakerbridge Road, for a session.

It is not clear when the session happened but police have said that Watts inappropriately touched the woman during her visit.

Hamilton Police and the Mercer County Prosecutor's Office investigated the woman's claims and arrested Watts on March 30 of last year.

His August court date will be a defense motion, according to the Mercer County Prosecutor's office.
