TRENTON - The Aviation Unit of the State Police practiced rescue techniques above an island in the Delaware River Monday, authorities said.
A State Police helicopter with several members of the unit hovered just above the tree line on an island in the Delaware River just off Riverside Drive Monday morning, Sgt. Gregory Williams said.
Members of the unit were lowered to the ground from the helicopter hovering at least 30-feet in the air. The training started around 10 a.m. and concluded about 12 p.m., Williams said.
The training will continue Tuesday at about the same time, Williams said.
