Raid on Trenton house nets guns, $57,000 in drugs

Police end a two-month investigation with a raid on a Oak Lane house Thursday

TRENTON - Police raided an Oak Lane house Wednesday, arresting two men and seizing two guns and $57,000 in cocaine and other drugs, authorities said.

David Lassiter, 34, and Rakim Johnson, 22, were arrested and charged during the raid at 8 Oak Lane, which took place around 6 p.m., authorities said.

Lassiter was arrested in front of a house on Norman Street and $770 in cash was seized when he was searched. Johnson was arrested as he left the Oak Lane house. He was found with $575 and a small amount of marijuana, according to the Mercer County Prosecutor's Office.

Authorities found a Glock .40 caliber, semi-automatic handgun and an extended magazine and a loaded revolver during the raid, conducted by the Mercer County Narcotics Task Force, county Sheriff's Office, State Police, federal marshals, Trenton and Hamilton Police.

Police also seized 420 grams of cocaine, more than 108 grams of crack cocaine, 12 ounces of marijuana, 13 ounces of promethazine -- a prescription pain killer --$7,217 in cash and drug paraphernalia, including digital scales, baggies and cooking utensils for crack cocaine, authorities said.

Police estimated the street value of the crack at about $11,000 and cocaine at about $42,000. The marijuana has an estimated value of $3,000 and the promethazine, $1,000, authorities said.

Lassiter was charged with weapons offenses and drug possession and distribution offenses. His bail was set at $200,000, authorities said.

Johnson was charged with drug possession and distribution offenses. His cash bail was set at $150,000, authorities said.
