UPDATE: Lawrence carjacking suspect arrested, had victim's car, purse
LAWRENCE -- The police department on Tuesday issued photos of a man they suspect carjacked a 78-year-old woman in front of Acme in the Lawrence Shopping Center Monday afternoon.
The victim, who suffered minor injures in the 3:30 p.m. attack, told police she had just finished loading groceries into her car and was in the drivers seat when the man approached.
The man leaned in and demanded her keys, Lawrence police said in a statement. The victim refused, and the man grabbed her wrists and threw her from the vehicle.
The victim suffered minor injuries to both of her hands, wrists and knee.

Police described the man as black, middle aged, 6-feet to 6-feet 1-inch tall with a large build and weighing about 250 pounds. He wore dark pants and a dark sweat shirt.
The man was last seen driving out of the parking lot in the victim's silver 2013 Kia Rio. The vehicle's New Jersey license plate is N62-EAX.
The shopping center is on Brunswick Pike (Business Rt. 1).
