Edmund Harman, 26, fondled when she came to his classroom seeking extra credit, prosecutors say
LAWRENCE - A Notre Dame High School science teacher has been charged with fondling a student when she came to his classroom seeking extra credit in February and asking the girl to send him nude photos, authorities said Tuesday.

Harman, a former track coach at the Diocese of Trenton school, was arrested at his Franklin Township home Monday following a joint investigation by the Mercer County Prosecutor's Special Victims Unit and the Lawrence Township Police Department, Onofri said.
He faces three counts of endangering the welfare of a child and one count of criminal sexual contact, Onofri said. Harman was being held in lieu of $150,000 bail.
School officials released an email statement Tuesday afternoon, saying the administration was cooperating with investigators and has put Harmon on administrative leave pending the outcome.
"We are deeply concerned about allegations that have been made against a Notre Dame High School teacher this week,'' the statement said. "We are fully cooperating with the Lawrence Township Police Department and with the Mercer County Prosecutor's Office with regard to the investigation. The Notre Dame Administration has placed the faculty member on administrative leave pending the outcome of the investigation."
