Camelia Rencher, 50, was charged with eluding and other charges after leading police on a car chase with speeds topping 90 mph, police said
FLORENCE - Florence police arrested a woman who led them on a high-speed chase reaching speeds of more than 90 mph to avoid a disorderly conduct charge, authorities said.
Camelia Rencher, 50, was jailed in lieu of $50,000 bail on eluding charges and numerous traffic violations after her arrest at her house Friday evening, police said.
Police were called to the Florence Tollgate Condominiums on a report of a woman acting disorderly shortly before 5 p.m. When officers arrived Rencher was driving away, police said.
Police attempted to stop Rencher, who sped away. She drove onto Florence-Columbus Road, reaching speeds of more than 90 mph and passing other drivers, police said.
Officers, who had identified Rencher, stopped chasing her because of the danger she posed to others, police said.
Later Friday, officers arrested and charged Rencher at her Florence home. She was taken to Burlington County Jail in lieu of bail, police said.
