Donnaven Miller, 23, robbed a teen of pocket change. His bail was set at $50,000, police said
TRENTON - A Trenton man who threatened another man with a gun, making off with pocket change faces was charged with robbery, police said Monday.
Donnaven Miller, 23, was arrested and charged around 8:30 p.m. Friday with robbery and weapons charges after he threatened another man on Cass Avenue near Grand Street, Lt. Stephen Varn said.
An 18-year-old Trenton man had left McDonald's on Cass Avenue when he was approached by Miller on Cass Street. Miller asked him for a cigarette. The teen said he had none and kept walking, Varn said.
Miller kept walking with the teen, continuing to ask for a cigarette. Miller then stopped the teen and gripped what the victim thought was a handgun in his waistband, Varn said.
The teen then gave over an unknown amount of change from his pockets and Miller walked off, Varn said.
The teen called police and kept Miller in sight as officers arrived. Miller was arrested nearby. No gun was found, Varn said.
Miller's bail was set at $50,000, according to police records.
