Person struck, killed by train near Princeton Junction

Northeast Corridor line service restored

WEST WINDSOR -- A person was struck and killed by an NJ Transit train, near the Princeton Junction station late Saturday, officials said. 

There were no injuries to the approximately 500 passengers and crew members on the train, according to NJ Transit spokeswoman Nancy Snyder. The Northeast Corridor line train was heading to Trenton from New York Penn Station. 

Amtrak police were leading the investigation, the spokeswoman added. 

The Northeast Corridor was initially suspended between Trenton Transit Center and New Brunswick, NJ Transit said in an alert posted at 10 p.m. Service was later resumed.
