Shawn C. Murphy was arrested by federal marshals on a warrant in a December robbbery
TRENTON - A Trenton man was arrested by federal marshals and charged with a December robbery, police said Monday.
Shawn C. Murphy, 33, was arrested by U.S. Marshals around 2:30 a.m. Friday at the corner of Broad and Beatty streets for an active warrant from a Dec. 14 incident, Lt. Stephen Varn said.
A woman was walking near the intersection of Brunswick Avenue and Vine Street around 3:30 p.m. Dec. 14 when she was approached by Murphy, who knocked her to the ground and punched her in the face and ran away with her cellphone, Varn said.
Police were able to identify Murphy as the attacker and a warrant was issued, Varn said.
Murphy was charged with strong arm robbery. His bail was set at $75,000, according to police records.
