Kohl's announced plans in February to close 18 stores nationwide
WEST WINDSOR - The Kohl's department store in West Windsor will be the only New Jersey location to be closed in June as part of a national plan to shut under-performing locations, company officials announced.
A total of 18 Kohl's stores will be closed nationally and half of them are in California. The move is expected to result in the layoff of 1,440 to 1,800 Kohl's workers.
Kohl's announced the closures in February during an earnings report and identified the individual stores last week. Kohl's has 18 locations in New Jersey.

The West Windsor location in the Nassau Park shopping plaza on Route 1 will close on June 19. It has been open for more than 15 years and it is unclear how many jobs will be affected at that store. The company said each store typically has 80 to 100 workers.
The company also announced plans to launch several smaller format stores and a dozen Fila outlet locations.
