TRENTON - A woman accused of stabbing a man to death and then tattooing his name on her arm had her bail reduced Tuesday.
Charlotte Carman, 39, of New Brunswick, appeared in Mercer County Superior Court in Trenton for a bail reconsideration hearing Tuesday, nearly a year after she was arrested in connection with the stabbing death of Paris France Way, 33.
During the hearing, Superior Court Judge Pedro Jimenez lowered Carman's bail from $750,000 to $400,000, according to Mercer County prosecutors.
Carman is charged with stabbing Way following an argument in Trenton.
Details released in man's stabbing
Authorities allege Carman slashed Way's tires then stabbed him in the chest several times before stealing money from his pocket and fleeing the scene.
Detectives found Carman in New Brunswick and she allegedly confessed to the crime, saying that she had used some of the stolen money to have Way's name tattooed on her arm, according to a police affidavit.
Prosecutors have said the two were dating.
A status conference for Carman is scheduled for April 18.
