Trenton police investigating suspicious fire

Heavy smoke and flames were coming from the rear of a row house on the 100 block of Stockton Street when firefighters arrived around 11:50 p.m.

TRENTON - Trenton police are investigating a suspicious fire that broke out in an abandoned house late Thursday, authorities said.

Heavy smoke and flames were coming from the rear of a row house on the 100 block of Stockton Street when firefighters arrived around 11:50 p.m., Lt. Stephen Varn said.

The fire heavy damaged the first floor of one home and caused moderate fire, smoke and water damage to an adjacent house, Varn said.

No firefighters were injured in the blaze. Both damaged houses were abandoned, Varn said.

Detective Gregory Hollo is investigating, Varn said.
