The death does not appear to be suspicious, according to the Mercer County Prosecutor's Office.

Police, fire and EMS responded to the 200 block of Tyler Avenue around 5:30 a.m. on a report of an infant not breathing. The child was taken to St. Francis Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead a short time later, police said.

Authorities had no immediate information about the circumstance involved in the child's death, authorities said.

While the death does not appear to be suspicious, it is being investigated by the Mercer County Homicide Task Force, which is typical in the case of any child death, Varn said.
