Kenneth Stewart, 44, was charged with child endangerment after school officials saw cuts and bruises on the child's arms, legs and stomach
TRENTON - A Trenton man was arrested and charged after beating his 7-year-old son with a belt, police said.
Kenneth Stewart, also known as Andre Moses, 44, was charged with child endangerment after officials at the Columbus Elementary School Wednesday noticed cuts and bruises on the boy's arms, legs and stomach, Lt. Stephen Varn said.
The boy was taken to Capital Health Regional Medical Center in Trenton, where he was treated for his injuries, Varn said.
Stewart hit the boy with a belt because he was misbehaving in school, Varn said.
Police and the state Division of Child Protection and Permanency are continuing to investigate, Varn said.
Stewart's bail was not immediately available, according to police records.
