Barbara Gardener, 37, hospitalized her boyfriend when she attacked him with a baseball bat and a pair of scissors
TRENTON - A Trenton woman was arrested days after she hospitalized her boyfriend when she attacked him with a baseball bat and a pair of scissors, police said.
Barbara Gardener, 37, was arrested by Mercer County Sheriff's Officers on a Trenton warrant just before 5 p.m. Wednesday and turned over to Trenton police. She was charged with aggravated assault and weapons offenses, Lt. Stephen Varn said.
The victim told police Gardener attacked him with a baseball bat at his house on the 600 block of Hoffman Ave. on Jan. 27. Gardener hit the man several times, causing a fractured left arm and bruised back, Varn said.
Gardner then also picked up a pair of scissors and stabbed the man several times in the left side, causing several cuts, Varn said.
The man was able to get away and took himself to Capital Health Regional Medical Center in Trenton, where he was treated for his injuries, Varn said.
Warrants were issued for Gardener, who was arrested around 2:30 p.m., Varn said.
Gardener's bail was set at $75,000, according to police records.
