Dante Childs and Sean Howard didn't want to leave the house they were in
TRENTON - Two Trenton men were arrested and charged after beating up and stealing a cellphone from another man Monday night, police said.
Dante Childs, 31, and Sean Howard, 33, were arrested on the 100 block of Brunswick Avenue when police responded to a call about a robbery in progress, Lt. Stephen Varn said.
The victim, a 32-year-old man, was found hiding on the roof of a house. He told police he was inside the house with several others and tried to get everyone to leave when Childs and Howard began hitting and kicking him, Varn said.
The two then went through the man's pockets, taking money and a cellphone, Varn said.
Childs, who had to be wrestled to the ground by police, was charged with strong arm robbery and resisting arrest. Howard was arrested on two outstanding warrants, according to police records.
