Trenton and Ewing: A tale of two snow plows

Complaints about unplowed streets in the capital city continue Watch video

TRENTON -- Call it a tale of two cities.

Sanhican Drive in Trenton is still a slush-and-snow-covered street, like much of the city following the massive snowstorm three days ago. But the pavement is clear once it crosses Afton Avenue and becomes River Road in Ewing.

"It was shocking to see the difference," said Donald Hallcom, who snapped two photos of the intersection Tuesday morning. "They got on it in no time in Ewing, but we're still waiting. We're still hearing promises, but nothing has happened."

He said plows swept through the Glen Afton neighborhood once over the weekend, but the streets remain largely unplowed.

"We're disappointed," Hallcom said. "It seems like this in every neighborhood in Trenton. Everyone's been neglected."

Residents have been complaining that repeated calls to the city's Public Works department have gone unanswered and even streets where plows have passed through are still in bad shape.
