Police responded to the home early Sunday after receiving a report of a stabbing
FLORENCE -- An intruder who broke into a Florence home fled after being shot by a resident, police say.
Police responded to the 500 block of Shaver Drive at 1:07 a.m. Sunday after receiving a report of a stabbing.
Robert Marshal, 42, of Florence, broke into a home and was shot by one of the residents before fleeing. The suspect, later identified as 42-year-old Robert Marshal of Florence, had entered the home through an open garage door and was met by one of the residents, police said.
During an ensuing struggle, one of the residents suffered a knife injury. He was later taken to the hospital and released.
Another resident fired a shot at Marshal, who then fled the scene, police said.
He was found nearly 12 hours later hiding in a closet in an apartment at Florence Tollgate Place. He suffered a gunshot wound to the arm and was taken to the hospital.

Marshal was charged with aggravated assault, possession of a weapon for unlawful purpose, unlawful possession of a weapon, obstructing the administration of law and simple assault.
He is being held at the Burlington County Jail on $200,000 bail.
