TRENTON - A 21-year-old man died at a Trenton hospital late Sunday morning after being wounded in the city's Wilbur section, authorities said.
Police responding to a report of gunfire in the area of Morton Alley near Monmouth Street at 11 a.m. found Davae Dickson, of Locust Street, shot in the side of his torso, the Mercer County Prosecutor's Office said.
Dickson died about an hour later during emergency surgery at Capital Health Regional Medical Center in Trenton, prosecutors said.
The city's ShotSpotter gunfire detection system also recorded the shooting. Multiple gunshots were fired in the area, prosecutors said.
The county's Mercer County Homicide Task Force is investigating Dickson's killing.
No arrests had been made in the case as of Sunday night.
