UPDATE: Wave of violence in Trenton has claimed a life
TRENTON - A late night shooting in Trenton's West Ward Friday sent a man to the hospital in "extremely critical condition," Trenton police said Saturday.
Officers were called to the 100 block of Rosemont Avenue around 11:15 p.m. Friday for a call about shots fired in the area. When they arrived they learned that a 24-year-old man had been driven to the hospital after a shooting outside, police spokesman Lt. Stephen Varn said.

The man was in "very" critical condition Saturday and the Mercer County Homicide Task Force was called in to investigate because of the severity of the shooting, Varn said
Police had not taken anyone into custody by Saturday afternoon.
Varn said police do not know if the shooting is linked to two others that happened around the same time. One shooting was at 8 p.m. on Oakland Street, another was just after midnight at a party on Prospect Street.
All three shootings were still being investigated Saturday.
