HIGHTSTOWN -- Hightstown residents wanting to renovate their homes can now take advantage of a new tax exemption program.
The borough council adopted an ordinance in November with the hopes that it would provide an incentive to residents to rehabilitate or renovate their homes.
The program, they said, would help promote long-term growth and redevelopment in the borough.
The five-year exemption will offer tax relief from the increased assessed values of the improvements.
Those interested in participating in the program would need to submit a form to the borough assessor within 30 days of completing the work.
