Hamilton collision injures 6, including 2 infants

A 2000 Honda Civic and a 2001 Saturn collided on northbound South Broad Street at Samdin Boulevard at about 11:35 a.m., injuring all the occupants, police said.

HAMILTON -- A couple in their 80s and two infant boys were injured in motor-vehicle collision on South Broad Street Sunday, Hamilton police said.

A 2000 Honda Civic and a 2001 Saturn collided on northbound South Broad at Samdin Boulevard at about 11:35 a.m., injuring all the occupants, Hamilton police Sgt. David Schultz said.

One vehicle was occupied by a 19-year-old Hamilton man, 18-year-old Hamilton woman and two young boys, a 1-year-old and an 11-month-old. The four were taken to Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital at Hamilton, Schultz said.

The other vehicle was occupied by an 86-year-old woman and 88-year-old man, both of Hamilton. They were taken to Capital Health Regional Medical Center in Trenton, Schultz said.

Their medical conditions were unknown Sunday evening.

The northbound lanes of South Broad Street between Irvington Place and Park Avenue was shut down until about 3:30 p.m. Sunday while police investigated.

Schultz said the accident is under investigation by Hamilton Officer Jose Anaya of the Hamilton Police Traffic Unit. Anybody who witnessed the crash is asked to call the Hamilton traffic unit at 609-581-4024.
