The Times 2015 Holiday Appeal draws to a close today. Thanks to the generosity of Times readers, businesses and charitable organizations, $41,119 has been raised so far to help Christine's Hope for Kids continue its mission help kids in need in our community.
The Times 2015 Holiday Appeal draws to a close today. Thanks to the generosity of Times readers, businesses and charitable organizations, $41,119 has been raised so far to help Christine's Hope for Kids continue its mission help kids in need in our community.
While solicitations of donations for the 2015 appeal, as well as stories about Christine's Hope for Kids, conclude today, The Times will continue to acknowledge contributions received through January 20.
Christine's Hope for Kids founders John and Jean Gianacaci extend their thanks to the community, "We are overwhelmed by the kindness and generosity of all those who have supported Christine's Hope for Kids during through this year's Times Holiday Appeal. Your donations will help us give so many more children the chance to just be kids, and get them what they need to learn, grow and flourish. We wish you all a very happy New Year!"
Recent donations include a gift of $1,000 from Marcia Renney of Princeton with a note, "Thanks for your good work."
Anonymous benefactors from Hamilton sent $300 with a note, "Keep up the good work!"
Brenda John Goodstein, a teacher at Sharon Elementary School in Robbinsville, sent $205 with a note, "Please accept this donation to Christine's Hope for Kids from myself and my third grade class and their families. Thank you for all you do for the children."
Sending $50 each were the Slayback family of Bordentown; William and Isobel Schultz of Robbinsville; C Ray and Gerry Bell of Hamilton with a note, "In memory of our grandson, Christopher C. Bell"; and Gloria Beck of Pennington with a note, "In memory of my husband, Louis Beck, Jr."
Freeholder Pasquale "Pat" Colavita of Lawrence also sent $50 with a note, "Blessings for a happy and prosperous New Year. God Bless."
Robert and Janice Anderson of Hamilton Square sent a gift of $35.
Jerry and Dawn DePew of Hamilton Square sent $25 and Armand Innocenzi of Ewing sent $20.
Anonymous donations include $100 from Lawrence; $100 from West Windsor; $50 from Ewing with a note, "Happy to donate!"; and $25 from Robbinsville with a note, "My thanks to The Times for its great work on behalf of children. Best wishes and good health to all in 2016."
The total also includes another $1,000 from NJM Insurance Group, which has pledged to donate $1,000 for every $5,000 contributed by the community and other business donors throughout the 2015 campaign. So far, NJM has donated a total of $11,000, which includes its initial $5,000 donation to kick off this year's Appeal.
To make a donation in support of Christine's Hope for Kids, make your check payable to The Times Holiday Appeal and mail it to Times Charities Inc., 413 River View Plaza, Trenton, NJ 08611.
All gifts will be acknowledged in The Times. Anonymity will be granted if requested.
