TRENTON -- A Trenton man and woman were hospitalized after being assaulted by five unidentified men in the city early this morning, police said.
The assault on the 26-year-old man and 24-year-old woman occurred at 1:33 a.m. on Merchant Street, shortly after the pair left an Elm Street bar after getting into an argument with five unidentified men, Trenton Police Lt. Stephen Varn said.
The group of men piled into two vehicles, identified only as a pickup truck and a sedan, and pursued the man and woman's vehicle, Varn said.
After catching up to the man and woman, the assailants began to ram their vehicle, causing the pair to pull over, Varn said.
