HAMILTON -- A bedroom fire in a Hamilton apartment sent one woman to the hospital Saturday morning with minor burns to her fingers and toes, according to the fire department.
The fire started around 10 a.m. Saturday in a second-floor bedroom in an apartment in the 1700 block of East State St.
Firefighters from Hamilton and one truck from Lawrence responded to the fire and were able to remove the woman from the apartment.
She was transported to a local hospital with minor burns, according to firefighters.
Fire officials did not immediately have the name or age of the woman Saturday.
Firefighters were still at the scene at 12 noon and said that the fire was contained to one bedroom on the second floor of the apartment.
Investigators were trying to determine the cause of the fire.
A neighbor in a house across the street had a video of the fire which showed flames bursting out of two windows on the second floor of the apartment.
