A man around the age of 35 was fatally struck by a train on the SEPTA West Trenton transit line in Pennsylvania Sunday morning.

MIDDLETOWN, Pa. -- A man believed to be around the age of 35 was fatally struck by a SEPTA train in Bucks County Sunday morning, officials said.

SEPTA spokesman Andrew Busch said the - who had no identification - was hit in Middletown along the West Trenton line at around 10 a.m.

The man was struck by a train heading into the Woodbourne Station in Langhorne. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

"The incident happened about a mile north of the Woodbourne Station," Busch said. "The train engineer applied the emergency brakes but by the time he saw the man on the tracks there wasn't time to stop the train."

Busch said Middletown Township police responded to the incident and deemed the man to be between the ages of 35 and 40, but could not identify him.

"Police are looking into whether it was accidental or done intentionally," Busch said. "But no foul play is suspected."

Busch said service along the line between Woodbourne and West Trenton was suspended for over an hour while police investigated.
