There are still plenty of places around the Garden State in which patrons can continue buying fresh and local.

Now that Thanksgiving weekend has come and gone, the outdoor farmers' market season has come to a close. Despair not, though -- indoor markets are ready to start welcoming customers for some post-Thanksgiving shopping.

HUNTERDON LAND TRUST

Here's all you need to remember about this one: third Sunday of the month. The downside is there are only five dates between December and April in which this farmers' market will be open for business. The first market will be on Dec. 20, 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Dec. 20. Others will follow on Jan. 17, Feb. 21, March 20 and April 17. The winter market is a smaller scale version of the May-to-November routine. This is the place to find organic produce, grass-fed meats, artisan cheese and bread, honey and wine. Dvoor Farm, 111 Mine St., Flemington.

MORRIS COUNTY WINTER FARMERS' MARKET

The weekly market kicks off 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sunday at a new location, Alexander Hamilton School. Business will continue on Sundays through April 24 with the exception of Easter (March 27). More than 20 farmers and local food vendors are ready to welcome customers as the Foodshed Alliance Farmers' Access Network, Sustainable Morristown and the Alexander Hamilton School are working together to continue to develop a local food system in which patrons will be able to eat locally and seasonally. In terms of what is available at the Morris County Winter Farmers' Market: fresh locally grown produce; farm-raised beef, pork and poultry and fresh seafood; fresh baked goods; fresh-from-the farm eggs and so much more. 24 Mills St., Morristown.

RAMSEY FARMERS' MARKET

Then there was one, as in Bergen County's only indoor winter farmers' market. Business kicks off Sunday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. and continues through March. Like the open-air version, patrons will enjoy an plenty of variety from the more than 30 local farmers and food purveyors selling what seems like an endless list of products. Each week also includes guest vendors, with Sweet Carol's Jams and Jellies and Marc's CheeseCakes booked for this weekend. Eric Smith School, 73 Monroe St.

WEST WINDSOR COMMUNITY FARMERS' MARKET

This popular open-air market is cutting back the schedule for the winter months, operating the second Saturday of each month starting on Dec. 12 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. The additional dates are Jan. 9, Feb. 13, March 12 and April 9. For the past 11 years, the group has organized "Eat Slow" winter markets for the Slow Food Central New Jersey chapter, which is being moved to West Windsor. This is the place to find organic and conventionally grown produce, cheese, pies, meats and poultry along with a variety of other items. Windsor Athletic Club, 99 Clarksville Road, West Windsor.
