TRENTON - A Trenton man was arrested and charged Monday with a weekend robbery, police said.
Ernest Wilkerson, 23, was identified by the robbery victim as one of two men who knocked her to the ground and took her jacket as she walked on the 800 block of East State Street Sunday shortly before 9 p.m., Lt. Stephen Varn said.
The 24-year-old woman told police that during the attack, Wilkerson showed the handle of a gun. She pointed out Wilkerson, who was nearby when police arrived. He eluded capture, Varn said.
Wilkerson was arrested on the first block of Walnut Avenue around 10:30 a.m. by U.S. Marshals after a warrant was issued for his arrest on robbery and weapons possession charges, Varn said.
Wilkerson's bail was set at $75,000, according to police records.
