A resolution that would have backed the legalization of marijuana died on the floor Watch video
TRENTON -- Ed "NJ Weedman" Forchion lit up a joint and repeatedly called Trenton's city council members "cowards" after a resolution that would have backed the legalization of marijuana died on the floor.
North Ward Councilwoman Marge Caldwell-Wilson made a motion to vote on a resolution calling on the state to legalize, tax and regulate marijuana for adults, but nobody seconded it.
Caldwell-Wilson then moved to table the resolution until council's next meeting, but that motion was also not seconded.
Council members Phyllis Holly-Ward and Duncan Harrison had already left the meeting at that point.
City resident Kevin Moriarty called out council on its inaction.
"You are elected to take a stance," he said. "To sit in silence when a member makes a motion, not even to second and take a vote is an act of cowardice."

Forchion later lit up a joint, drawing the attention of City Clerk Richard Kachmar, who asked that he be escorted out of council chambers by security.
"All of you are cowards," he said as he left. "You couldn't even vote. If you had some balls, you would at least say 'no.' You're cowards."
About two dozen marijuana activists attended the meeting to show their support for the resolution.
