Town officials and community members are meeting next month to design a master bike plan that will ensure safe biking in Princeton
PRINCETON - Community members will begin meeting next month to form a "Bicycle Master Plan," in order to improve the town's biking network - connecting trails and destinations within Princeton, according to a press release from the town.
Town officials planned the first meeting for 6:30 p.m., Nov. 12 at the town's Community Room, when staff from the engineering department will speak with community members.
They are hoping to get an idea of community members' concerns, questions and suggestions for transforming and improving the town's bicycle network, the release stated.

The meeting is one step in a large-scale "Bicycle Master Plan," funded by the New Jersey Department of Transportation. With the plan, the town hopes to encourage more biking and make all modes of transportation accessible in Princeton, according to a master plan guide on the town's website.
"By redefining our streets as places for all users, we can slow down cars, make walking and biking safer, and provide connections to regional transit," Mayor Liz Lempert said in the release.
November's meeting is the first of three community meetings the town plans to hold to discuss the plan.
Once town officials form a master plan, they will take it to the planning board for review. The board will need to adopt it as part of the town's larger "Community Master Plan," the release stated.
