TRENTON - Three Trenton men were arrested and charged with drug offenses during a narcotics sweep in a West Ward neighborhood Monday, police said.
Jaishawn Mathis, 21, David Harman, 25 and Anthony R. Rongo Jr., 38, were arrested Monday morning after police from the violent crimes unit, the warrant squad and the State Police broke up a drug deal on the first block of Sanhican Drive, Lt. Stephen Varn said.
Police, responding to resident complaints of gun and drug trafficking in the area, saw the three in a heroin deal when police moved in, Varn said.
Police seized 135 bags of heroin and $531, along with an Acura MDX and charged Mathis with three counts each of heroin possession and distribution. Harman and Rongo each were charged with a single count of heroin possession, Varn said.
Mathis was jailed in lieu of $75,000 bail. Rongo and Harman were charged and released with a court date, according to police records.
