A worker digging on Hardy Road struck a gas main, causing a leak and forcing police to shut down the road for an hour
PRINCETON - Workers digging in a cul de sac on Hardy Road struck a gas main Thursday morning, causing a gas leak that was fixed an hour later, according to police.
Officers were called to the area around 9:45 a.m. after a worker with the Hillis Group hit a 2 inch gas main while digging to plant trees in a cul de sac, according to police.
They shut down the road for half an hour while the leak was corrected.

Firefighters and First Aid and Rescue workers arrived at the scene around 10 a.m. and found that no one was in the surrounding houses during the leak.
The leak was under control around 10:30 a.m., according to police
