TRENTON -- Two men suffered stab wounds in Trenton during separate incidents with women, police said.

At 12:50 a.m. Monday police were called to a Beakes Street residence for a reported stabbing and found a 37-year-old man with a knife wound to his chest, police said.

Officers found the perpetrator was still in the residence, as well as the knife she allegedly used. Shaquina Pickett, 36, was charged with simple assault and weapon possession charges.

Pickett and the victim have a child together, police said. The two were involved in an argument when Pickett allegedly stabbed the victim.

The victim was taken to Capital Health Regional Medical Center in Trenton for a non life-threatening wound, police said.

On Sunday night, at about 9 p.m., police were dispatched to a residence on Division Street for a stabbing in progress and found a 27-year-old man suffering from a large, bloody cut to his left forearm, police said.

Police determined the man's former girlfriend arrived at his apartment and would not leave, police said. During a confrontation, the woman, Maria Perez, allegedly grabbed a kitchen knife and stabbed the victim and ran from the apartment.

Perez, 26, of Hamilton, was charged with aggravated assault and weapon possession charges and police issued warrants for her arrest.

The victim was also treated at Capital Health Regional for the arm wound, police said.
