The last master plan was completed in 1995
EWING -- Trenton-Mercer Airport is considering the first updates to its master plan in 21 years.
The updated plan will help guide improvements and capital investments at the county-owned airport through 2035.
The public is invited to attend a workshop meeting Thursday to learn about the ongoing master planning process and the work that has been completed to date.
"Basically it's going to give us a blueprint for the future and tell us what we can and cannot do," Aaron Watson, the county's deputy administrator, previously said in July. "We always recognized that this was something that we needed to do."
The cost to create the updated master plan is $867,800, county spokeswoman Julie Willmot said. The Federal Aviation Administration will pay 90 percent of the cost and the remaining 10 percent is eligible for reimbursement through the Passenger Facility Charge program.
Thursday's meeting will have information on the airport's existing conditions, activity forecast and future facility requirements. Representatives from the county, airport and consulting firms Urban Engineers and McFarland Johnson Inc. will be available to answer questions and gather input from the public.
The meeting will be held at the West Trenton Volunteer Fire Company's ballroom, 40 West Upper Ferry Rd., Ewing. Those interested in attending can stop by anytime between 6 and 8 p.m.
