Brandon Speyer, 24, is charged with aggravated assault, among other charges
TRENTON -- A Trenton man is facing charges he slashed his boyfriend with a knife during an argument Friday, police said.
Brandon Speyer, 24, is charged with aggravated assault, unlawful possession of a weapon, possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose, hindering and obstruction.
Speyer and his 37-year-old boyfriend were arguing over "something stupid" before deciding to go into his room and lock the door, said Lt. Rolando Ramos. When he emerged about a half-hour later, the boyfriend started fighting with him again.
Speyer told police he grabbed a knife to defend himself and ending up cutting his boyfriend, Ramos said. He then tried to escape through a window when officers arrived, but was taken into custody, Ramos said.
