HAMILTON -- Steinert High School sophomore wildcat quarterback Jordan Morrison does it all for the Spartans - he runs the ball, catches the ball, and - most importantly - gets the ball into the end zone.

Morrison's versatile skillset was on display during Steinert's 28-7 drubbing of Princeton on Oct. 10. The talented 6-foot-1, 170-pound sophomore carried the ball eight times for 44 yards (5.5 yards per carry) and two touchdowns. He also frequently lined up out wide, catching six balls for 75 yards, both team highs. Overall, Morrison put up 119 total yards on only 14 touches, demonstrating how dynamic he is with the ball in his hands.

"We like to equal out our run and pass game, so this feels good today," Morrison told NJ Advance Media after the win. "We work hard in practice in both facets of the game."

While Morrison dominated Princeton in just about every way possible, his teammates showed up as well.

"It was a whole team effort to get the momentum going," Steinert's Alex Rubio, a former Athlete of the Week, told NJ Advance Media after the game.

Rubio also had a day, racking up 13 carries for 45 yards and two touchdowns.

"It was nice for us to get that cushion there," Rubio said about all the points his team put on the board. "Last game we had a cushion, but they came back. It is good to have that cushion and keep it."

Morrison's production was a big reason for that "cushion," as his contributions clearly helped fuel Steinert's victory - a statement that has also applied to several games in the past. Take Steinert's 21-0 victory over West Windsor-Plainsboro North on September 11 for example. Morrison racked up 130 rushing yards and two touchdowns during the contest, dominating WW-P North with ease. Thanks to Morrison, the Spartans were able to come out on top.

So while Morrison's multi-faceted dominance on the field is nothing new for the Spartans, it's safe to assume that they'll never get tired of seeing it.
