HAMILTON -- The township has decided to combine Septemberfest and Fall Harvest into a two-day Oktoberfest.
The new festival will take place October 1 and 2, a Saturday and Sunday, at Veterans Park.
Saturday's festivities will begin at 3 p.m., the township announced, with a kick-off concert by the band, The Heartbeats.
Following the performance will be fireworks. In between, residents will be able to enjoy food vendors and kid activities, such as bounce houses.
Sunday's activities will take place from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. and include crafters, fall-themed music, entertainment, hayrides, a pumpkin patch, a corn maze, food vendors and more.

"I think residents will really enjoy this exciting new event, which combines the very best of Septemberfest and Fall Harvest into one fun-filled weekend," Hamilton Mayor Kelly Yaede said in a statement. "I hope that our entire community will come out and help us start this new tradition."
The township's announcement said town officials believed it was finally time to make some changes to the community's fall celebrations and to combine the events, which previously took place within weeks of each other.
Hamilton Honda, PNC Bank, Prior Nami Business Systems, Doctors Express and Borden Perlman are among the new Oktoberfest's sponsors.
Oktoberfest's inclement weather dates are October 15 and 16.
