TRENTON -- What would Jesus do?

Diocese of Trenton Bishop David M. O'Connell put the question to over 800 Catholic school students and their teachers Thursday at the diocese's annual Catholic Schools Mass at St. Mary of the Assumption Cathedral.

"For us as Catholics and Christians, the phrase 'what would Jesus do' is a great reminder, a great message for all of us to ask every day in all the things we do," the Bishop said in his homily as reported by The Monitor, the diocese's newspaper.

"We find the answer here at Mass. Make it a point never to miss Mass because that's what God asks of us: to love him in return and spend an hour a week with him," the paper reported O'Connell preaching. "That's how our Catholic faith grows."

The students represented 32 elementary and eight high schools in Burlington, Mercer, Monmouth and Ocean counties.

Students participated in all parts of the Mass, from the opening procession, which students personalized by carrying items that symbolized their faith, to students serving as acolytes, readers, intercessors and choir members, the Monitor reported.
