The Trenton Fire Department and state Department of Corrections practiced for a medical call at New Jersey State Prison.
TRENTON -- The Trenton Fire Department ladder that was raised to a guard tower at New Jersey State Prison Wednesday was only a medical drill.
Trenton fire officials and state Department of Corrections officers sealed of part of Second Street alongside the prison in South Trenton at about 10 a.m. for the drill.
The purpose was to practice the fire department's response to a corrections officer having a medical emergency in a tower, city Battalion Chief Gus Tackas said. The department raised Ladder 4 to one of the towers.
"It went well," Tackas said.
