Two men, ages 21 and 27, were taken to the hospital with gunshot wounds Tuesday night
TRENTON -- Two people were injured in separate shootings 10 minutes apart Tuesday night in the city.
Police responded to a public housing complex on the 500 block of Hoffman Avenue around 7:34 p.m. after dispatchers received a call for a man shot, said Lt. Stephen Varn.
The 21-year-old man had been hit in his inner right thigh and was taken to Capital Health Regional Medical Center. He told police he was in a common hallway in one of the buildings when he heard two gunshots and realized he had been struck, Varn said.
At 7:42 p.m., police were detailed to the 200 block of Spring Street on a report of shots fired.
A 27-year-old man, who had been taken to the hospital by a family member, later told police that he was outside with a group of people when he heard several gunshots and felt pain in his upper right arm, Varn said. He remains in the hospital with injuries that are not life threatening.
The Shooting Response Team is investigating both incidents, but any suspects or motives still remain unknown.
Tuesday's incidents follow a homicide and three other shootings that occurred over Labor Day weekend.
