One of the five also had a warrant for his arrest stemming from a June 28 assault
TRENTON -- Five men were arrested on drug charges after police were called about a group of people on a porch smoking marijuana and playing loud music late Monday.
Shawn Tift, 24, Timothy Wright, 23, Breyon Frink, 21, Quashawn Prilo, 27, all of Trenton, and Quasaun Scott, 25, of Ewing, were each charged with possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia.
Street Crime Unit detectives were sent to the 100 block of Randall Avenue at around 11:25 p.m. in response to several citizen complaints, said Lt. Stephen Varn.
The arriving officers noticed a strong smell of marijuana and learned that none of the five lived there. Police found a bag containing 5 grams of marijuana and a digital scale, Varn said.
Tift also had an active warrant for a simple assault charge stemming from a June 28 incident, Varn said. He and the mother of his child had gotten into a dispute when police say he spit in her face and pushed her into a garbage can, causing her to fall. Tift then pushed her again into a parked car. The woman, 24, injured her elbow and a warrant was issued for Tift's arrest, Varn said.
