FLORENCE -- A father and son have been charged with assault in connection with a street fight in Roebling Sunday afternoon, Florence police said Friday.
William Kitson, 56, and Jesse Kitson, 25, were arrested Thursday in connection with the incident.
Officers responded to a reported fight in the area of 5th Avenue and South Street at about 2:15 p.m. and found several people reporting the fighting.
Police officers located an assault victim with a minor injury who refused medical attention at the scene.
After several interviews and collecting evidence at the scene, police allege William Kitson struck the victim in the back with a steel wrench during the fight. Police did not identify the victim.
Jesse Kitson then allegedly drove his vehicle in an erratic manner toward two people.
William Kitson is charged with aggravated assault, unlawful possession of a weapon and possessing the weapon for an unlawful purpose. He was released on bail following his arrest after her was taken to a local hospital for a medical emergency.
Jesse Kitson is charged with aggravated assault and held initially on $10,000 bail at the Burlington County jail.
