The sting resulted in the arrests of 11 women and eight men
TRENTON -- Police arrested 19 people on prostitution-related charges during an overnight bust in the city.
Between 4 p.m. and midnight, Street Crime Unit detectives conducted an operation targeting prostitution in the area of South Clinton and Hamilton avenues, said Lt. Stephen Varn. The sting resulted in the arrests of 11 women and eight men.
Nine of the 19 had outstanding warrants against them and six also face drug charges.
The women arrested were: Vanessa Watkins, 30; Jennifer Weisneck, 28; Erika McGuire, 25; Tracey Rhodes, 33; Heather Swick, 32; Tyra Saunders, 31; Lanier Beale, 44; Carmen Rivera, 35; Migdalia Santiago, 42; Anne Fink, 45; and Ashley Swanson, 20.
The men arrested were: Jose Laboy, 43; Efrain Calvente, 38; Pablo Puma, 28; Nieves Hernandez, 24; Jhonny Pena, 38; Mario Contreras, 45; Lorenzo Cruz, 34; and Fernando Lara, 63.
Pena is from Philadelphia, but everyone else is from Trenton.
The operation was under the direction of Detective Capt. Donald Fillinger, Detective Lt. Christopher Doyle and Detective Sgt. Brian Cipolloni.
