DJ Father Shaheed was killed in a motorcycle crash two years ago in New York
NEW YORK -- The main charged in a fatal motorcycle accident that claimed the life of prominent rapper DJ Father Shaheed two years ago was arrested while trying to board a flight that would take him out of the country, News 4 New York reported.
Clifford Perkins was found guilty of negligent homicide following a motorcycle crash in New York May 25, 2014. Perkins did not appear for an Aug. 3 court date and was arrested over the weekend as he was trying to make his way to Florida for a connecting flight to Jamaica, authorities said. He was being held in the Westchester County jail pending a Monday court appearance.
Trenton rapper killed in crash
DJ Father Shaheed, born Scott Phillips, was a member of groundbreaking Trenton hip-hop trio Poor Righteous Teachers. They group scored a hit with Rock Dis Funky Joint off their debut album "Holy Intellect."
Phillips was 45 at the time of his death.
