Dajon Bethea, of Trenton, was charged in connection with a July carjacking
TRENTON -- An 18-year-old Trenton man was arrested early Thursday after police identified him as one of three suspects involved in a July carjacking.
An arrest warrant had been issued against Dajon Bethea following an investigation into the July 17 incident, said Lt. Stephen Varn.
The victim, a 31-year-old city man, told police he had been asleep in his car on the 900 block of South Broad Street just after 1 a.m. when three suspects dragged him out, began attacking him and swiped his wallet and car keys, Varn said.
The man tried to run but was chased by the suspects, who continued to assault him.
When the officers, who initially responded to the area of Broad and Liberty streets, tried to find the car, it was already gone.
Bethea was arrested around 1:15 a.m. Thursday on the first block of Liberty Street. Varn said the other two remain at large and the investigation remains ongoing.
