MERCER COUNTY -- Three auto dealerships, in Hamilton and Princeton, are participating for the third year in a car-selling event to raise money for the The Valerie Fund, which supports healthcare for children with cancer.

Hamilton Volkswagen and Mazda, and Precision Acura and Team Toyota, both of Princeton, will donate $5 for every new and used car sold through October 31, 2016.

In conjunction with this campaign, called New Jersey Auto Retailers Unite, participating dealership customers will also have a chance enter a sweepstakes to win a new car.

"We were astounded by the generosity New Jersey auto dealerships have exhibited for the children of The Valerie Fund," Bunny Flanders, marketing director at The Valerie Fund said in a statement. "The $1.3 million raised over the last two years has allowed us to expand our services to treat our children and families."

The Valerie Fund has supported services for children with cancer and blood disorders since 1976 and treats the medical, emotional, social, and developmental needs of children with cancer and has a staff of counselors, psychologists, and specialists who treat the entire family.

Seven Valerie Fund Centers are located in major hospitals in New Jersey and treat more than 5,000 patients annually.

More information and a list of participating dealership locations can be found at the New Jersey Auto Retailers Unite campaign website.
