TRENTON -- A 37-year-old Trenton man has been charged with shooting a man to death on Chambersburg street Friday night, authorities said Wednesday.
Alberto PerezAlberto A. Perez, of Anderson Street, was charged Tuesday with murder and related charges in the death of Jonathan Jimenez, 32, of Trenton, the Mercer County Prosecutor's Office said.
Perez was already in custody at the Mercer County jail in Hopewell Township since the weekend on unrelated warrants when he was charged in the killing, prosecutors said.
Officers found Jiminez unconscious and suffering a gunshot wound to the chest at 11:15 p.m. Friday on the first block of Cummings Avenue, near Chestnut Avenue.
He was rushed to a Trenton hospital, where he died a short time later.
Police had previously said investigators were looking for two men seen fleeing the scene. Officers on Saturday located a vehicle that was suspected to be involved in the crime.

Over the weekend, mourners signed a large bed sheet hung near the crime scene where people posted pictures, left candles and scrawled messages recalling their friendship with Jiminez.
The prosecutor's office did not elaborate on the charges against Perez or if anyone else is being sought in Jiminez's killing. The homicide remains under investigation, the office said.
The charges are a result of an investigation by the Mercer County Homicide Task Force. Perez was being held on $750,000 bail on the murder charge.
