Officers apprehended Brinton Tootle, 29, of Monmouth Street in Trenton near his home at 2:30 p.m. Monday.
TRENTON -- A second suspect has been charged with robbing a deliveryman in Trenton in May, police said.
Officers from the U.S. Marshals' NY/NJ Regional Fugitive Task Force arrested Brinton Tootle, 29, of Monmouth Street in Trenton near his home at 2:30 p.m. Monday, Trenton police said.
Tootle is charged with robbery and firearm possession charges in connection with the May 27 hold-up of a man delivering Chinese food on Thompson Street in the East Ward.
Trenton police previously announced the arrest of Anthony Samuels, 23, as one of the alleged robbers.
Police have said they received a call from the driver who reported being robbed while delivering an order for the Food King Chinese restaurant.
The driver told officers that two men walked up to the driver's side of his vehicle, one with a gun in hand and demanded the victim turn over money. The second robber then grabbed the Chinese food from the passenger side.
Officers found two men eating Chinese food from plain containers on the front porch of a house on the 300 block of Monmouth Street. Police detained the men, but the driver could not identify them at that point, so police let them go.
After further investigation, detectives were able to identify Samuels as one of the suspects and arrested him a few days later.
Detectives later charged Tootle with the robbery and issued a warrant for his arrest.
