The car jackings both occurred in Trenton Friday afternoon and evening

TRENTON - Police are investigating two separate carjacking incidents that occurred within a few hours of each other Friday afternoon and evening, according to Trenton police.

The first was called in around 5 p.m. near the intersection of South Logan and Ward Avenues. A man said he was driving on Ward Avenue when he was stopped by a pedestrian who asked him for directions to Philadlephia.

Moments later, the pedestrian pulled out a gun and ordered the driver to get out of the car and hand over his money, police said. The suspect got into the car - a grey Lexus with New Jersey plates - and drove off.

Police were still looking for the man and the stolen car by Saturday afternoon. The suspect is heavyset, black and around 25 to 35 years old, police said. He was wearing a tan hat and a grey shirt.

The second car jacking came only hours after the first. Around 10:15 p.m. a Dominoes Pizza delivery driver said he was called to deliver food to an address on the 100 block of Hudson Street, according to police. When he arrived, the driver couldn't find the apartment and instead called the customers for directions. He told police the customer who placed the order told him to go to the 100 block of Fulton Street instead.

At the new address the driver found two men sitting on a porch. One of the men was black, around 18 to 25 years old and wearing a white tank top with blue jeans, police said.  The men waved him down but when the driver got out of the car to deliver the food, the incident took a turn. He told police the man with the white tank top pulled out a handgun and robbed the driver as the second suspect got into the driver's parked Nissan Altima.

Both men took off in the stolen car and police were unable to find them by Saturday afternoon.

In both cases, police are looking for street or other surveillance cameras that may have captured evidence of the two separate car jackings.
